Hi friends and welcome to Life Lessons.
Life is a roller coaster of various ups and downs. It has all the essences. Suffering is not an exemption among them. Millions of people suffer in their life due to one or the other reason.
Whatever may be the problem is it can be sorted only by looking at it practically. I have already elucidated about this in my previous episode, Check out this episode here.
When we look at the situation practically we tend to find the reasons behind them. Thus we could find the solution.
The teachings and prescriptions from ancient gurus have really reduced our effort in various such fields. Same is the case here too. The complete explanation of this concept is already given to us. Therefore we can just follow them to know the root cause of all sufferings and avoid them.
I would take chance to share a small story in this context for better interpretation.

THE CHRONICLE:
Ram is a typical family man in a small town in India. He has a small family consisting of him, his wife and their children.
His wife always came with different opinions in everything, but he tried to create a safe path. Despite of this, everything was going good until the pandemic has emerged.
In early 2020 lockdown was implemented in almost all parts of the country. There was panic everywhere. Market was closed and even basic utilities were not available. Since everything was frozen he got frustrated with the situation. He turned moody. He stopped talking to his family with love. He started to show anger at each and every instinct.
After few days his wife health deteriorated. Cough and fever made her weak. She got panicked at the scenario. She was in a doubt whether she would be diagnosed with Corona. She wanted to make a test for the same.
When she insisted the same to Ram, he got outraged. He was not ready to expose his family to the outside contaminated locality. This made him stop her to visit for a checkup. Her situation went worse as days passed. Ram felt a sense of fear for her.
Soon a notification came out. In few days there will be at the door check up for free in their locality. This was sponsored by their local political leader. He felt that this was the opportunity to get the much waited test at the door step.
But the camp was 10 days away. His wife’s health was already in a bad state. She insisted waiting for the free camp was not a good idea, as her health would worsen by the time. She said she is concerned about her children. They should be careful in order to take care of the children. But Ram was not in a mood to listen to these words. He decided to wait for the free check up.
Days passed and her health continued to worsen. After a week, early in the morning, he tried to wake her up, but she didn’t wake up. She was no more. He was shocked at the sight. He was hurtled at the thought what needs to be done now. How to face his children? What should he answer them? How can he face the society?
He could see nothing in his path. He lost his senses and collapsed on the floor at once.

THE ROOT CAUSE OF ALL SUFFERINGS:
I tried to narrate the chronicle to demonstrate various reasons for sufferings. Let me interpret the scenario to make the understanding better.
Firstly, Ram was frustrated at the pandemic and created anger in him. This anger created fear in his wife and created the sense of health deterioration. This is the point where the entire problem has started.
Secondly, Ram was not serious about health of his wife. No matter was it Covid or not, he must have moved forward to take care of her. He was quite ignorant at the situation. This made the emerging problem into a worst one.
Finally, after debate of days together, he decided to take her for checkup. But this time the greed for free camp announcement has stopped him in moving forward. This made him to lose his beloved wife.
The illustration is very clear about various reasons of suffering. These are anger, ignorance, and greed. These are generally the basic reasons for all sufferings. You may take example of any form of sufferings; this may have origin form any of them.
Some other reasons may be lust, ego etc. These are generally the underlying reasons of the factors stated above.
These causes are stated by Lord Gautam Buddha as a part of the four noble truths. He said that sufferings (Dukkha) is caused by Ignorance, greed and anger.
Now the question is- Did he state any solution for this?
The answer is yes.
HOW TO OVERCOME SUFFERING
Gautam Buddha in his four noble truths has mentioned the solution for sufferings. According to him renouncement is the solution for sufferings. Renouncement basically means ‘letting go’. He means to say that we need to let go some aspects of life to keep us the pace and thus keeping out of sufferings.
This aspect is commonly misinterpreted by many people. For instance, in the chronicle I stated above, what shout Ram renounce to avoid this suffering?
Definitely, some may answer that he must let go his wife’s health just by believing god. If your answer is same as this, then you are wrong.
Ram should actually let got the fact that his wife always came out new opinion that generally opposed his. If he could do this, he might have decreased the anger in him and would have taken care at early stage itself thus avoiding suffering.
