In the long journey of our life, we come across many people. Many of these people are temporary (no doubt), but we need them sometimes in that part of life. in the process of such relationships, there are few things that both persons expect from each other. These include faith, loyalty, love, and respect. In many cases, these all are interlinked and thus are all present in some cases. But it is not always possible that all these attributes lie between all the people. This may thus cause many disturbances between these people.
In most cases, there comes a point where a person has to select whether he (she) needs love or respect. Selecting one of these two is one of the biggest challenges. But selecting one is important to lead a smooth life. Let us look into the probable answer in this episode.

What is Love?
Basically love is the tendency of having strong feelings attached to a person which is also characterized by affections and the need for them to stay. This includes lots of care and belief in the person.

Respecting is basically characterized by admiration and giving importance to the other person’s decisions and opinions thus giving them enough freedom to live.

What differentiates love and respect?
Love and respect are not always different. In relation, love and respect are not different terms. Because sometimes when a person tends to take care of another person, he (she) tends to respect the other person’s opinion too.

What is the probable solution?
Nothing is unfair until everything goes smooth. In some cases, a conflict between love and respect arises. In these cases what is the probable solution that we should choose from? This is the biggest challenge in life.
There was a man in my town named Tej. He has a daughter ages around 7.He loved his daughter and his daughter also reciprocated the same. He seldom pampers her and makes her feel rich and loved. This gave rise to some unbearable behavior by her. Once she asked him for an ice cream to which he refused as it was nighttime and it's not good to go out and eat this time. She started crying and beating him for the rejection. She never knew what a refusal is. This time Tej has a conflict between love and Respect.
He brings Ice Cream for her this late at night, then this would prove his love but he will lose respect from his daughter. On the other hand, if he refuses now to promise to get it later, his respect will be protected.
Similar conflicts may come with people in many other cases and select one among love and respect proves necessary.
Respect is the one that should be selected when such a case arises not Love.
Why?
Let us understand it logically. Love mainly refers to care whereas respect mainly refers to the admiration of opinions. Love in many cases doesn’t ensure respect. Whereas respect can develop love as time passes. It is always logical to understand that we can never care the same way all the time, but we can respect the person the same way all the time.

Many people perceive that love is the need of the day. This is true, but Love without respect is not at all healthy in any sort of relationship. One should always respect other’s time, feelings, opinions, and decisions, only then that the relationship will tend to be smooth.
