CAN MONEY SOLVE ALL OUR PROBLEMS? Episode 61, LIFE LESSONS

 

Some claim money is the solution for everything, whereas some claim it doesn’t. What is the actual truth behind it? If you want to know the answer, you are in the right place.

Life turned to be more comfortable after the revolution of technology. Every work is simplified by the addition of technology to it. Wet grinders and mixers replaced the manual work of housewives. Bluetooth and wireless switches added to comfort to the people in homes. Home delivery of various items made the purchase easy. When we observe these improvements carefully, we find that implementation of these latest technologies need an additional investment apart from the base investment.

There are many such instances in which we observe that investing more can bring about more comforts and happiness. But by this observation can we conclude if money can turn out to be the solution for everything? Let us try to interpret the scenario and come to a perfect answer in the following lines.

Does money buy comfort?

Our interpretation of ‘Comfort’ fetches out the ample answer to this question. Comfort can broadly be of two types: Emotional and physical.

The instances I stated in the previous lines are the instances of physical comforts. Having a Big TV, luxurious car and a big house can add to the Physical comfort of the person. A big car at the entrance of the house, a decorated bed in the bedroom all add to physical comfort. These are those comforts that your neighbors may feel jealous about.

Emotional comfort is a different concept as a whole. It is the satisfaction that we get after having something. For instance, having tasty food can be a happy moment, but having a mother beside you to accompany is the emotional satisfaction. Many of us do feel the emotional satisfaction and comfort from the physical comforts too. This generally happens with many typical middle-class people.  Because, middle-class people dream about having something throughout their life and when they purchase it, they feel a sense of emotional satisfaction towards it too. But it is important to understand that physical comforts may not feed to the emotional comfort of the person always.

Can money solve all the problems?

After understanding the ability of money in giving us comforts, we can make it clear that money has the ability to buy things that can add to comforts.

To answer the question above, it is important to understand some more points about money:

·         Money not only adds comforts but also arranges various other factors in life. For example: If we have a special puja at home and we are not aware of how to purchase, tie and adorn flowers. In this case we can spend money on decorators who take contracts of decorating as per our guidance.

·         It sometimes acts as the base of relation. For instance, when a best friend of us has stuck into some sort of money complications, we can come forward to help to show the strength of the relationship.

·         Money can assure a sense of stability and belief in us. For instance, if I borrowed a sum of money from a person for a sudden expense. Even the person I borrowed knows me, he can only pay me if he believes that I can pay it back at the right time.

 

There are many more such typical points that make us understand the character of money. All these characteristic leads us to the only answer- YES, money can plaster almost every problem in life.

 

But the reality is not the conclusion that we have observed. Money cannot be the solution for every problem

Why money can’t buy everything?

The question typically points out two aspects.

Before we can precisely comment on the answer, let us look at the above-mentioned postulates in other dimensions.  If the question is can Money buy anything? The answer is yes. Money can buy anything in the present scenario no matter where are you present in the world. But the underlying question is? Is money available with you all the time to buy everything?

All of us earn money. It is therefore important to understand that money has to come from somewhere. Only after this that can we spend it on whatever we want in life. The Source of money acts as an important factor in answering the question. Different individuals have different levels of income. Thus they cannot go for comforts in the same way.

Here is where the relations and bonding between the individuals come to play. A person having good relationships in the workplace and the society can avail of good value and money compared to others.

It is ideal to presume that there is an infinite source of income for the person. If this is the case, then we can clearly state that money can solve all the problems.

Bottom Line

It is to be understood that having good relationships with people around us is the foundation for all these aspects. Being transparent, genuine, and friendly with people around us can lead to the ultimate solution for everything. Money is one of those factors for sure. But it not even acts as the primary of all those in many cases. Thus in a single word, the answer is clear No. Money alone cannot bring about the solution in all cases. It can only be possible if we have some source of income from those inflows irrespective of the situation. This is the reason people strive to get riches.
