The story of Aufrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn is one of those few star actresses in the 1950s. She gathered a lot of fame and money in her career or best performances. Not only this, even today is she one of those few people (15 in number) who backed all the prestigious awards for her performances: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT).

She had a good life in her acting career. She acted in quite a good number of movies till 1967. IN 1967, she changed her mind. She decided to move away from movies. She joined UNICEF and began to serve the children in war-torn countries. She served as a volunteer for almost 25 years.

Now from this short story, one may question what is wrong with her decisions? There is no reasonable loss for anyone. But there is a lot of change in efficiency in her life. No doubt she made her life effective as per her wish but it was not effective.

Let us just imagine her life in another way. In case she continued in movies after 1967, she could have earned a lot more money which she can donate to serve a large number of children across the world.

What are the conclusions?

Here we can get a clear idea and a better perception of the 80/20 principle. One should always look for the 20% tasks that would give 80% of the results. But one should never neglect the rest of tasks and moreover if one believes in that tasks that may give results magical in the future, then he (she) should go for it no matter if it sounds non-effective in the beginning. This perception can actually make us more efficient simultaneously effective.
